Our principal and staff
Our school team is committed to every student’s learning, wellbeing and sense of belonging. We work together to create a supportive and inclusive school where every child is set up for success.
Welcome from our principal
Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome to Riverbank Public School! We are excited to have you join our school community as your child embarks on this important and rewarding journey in their education.
Since opening our doors in Term 1 of 2015, Riverbank Public School has maintained a strong emphasis on high expectations and outstanding teaching and learning programs. Our commitment to ongoing professional learning for our staff ensures that we provide a nurturing and challenging environment for all our students.
Our Quality Teaching Framework and rich curriculum content foster engaged and effective learning experiences. Collaborative planning and decision-making, along with distributed instructional leadership practices, are key features of our school. As part of The Ponds Learning Community, we focus on developing quality Literacy and Numeracy programs while integrating technology to support and engage our students.
With a student population of 2,180, 89% of whom have a language background other than English, we are proud to offer a holistic and inclusive approach to education. Our four multi-categorical support classes and strong student wellbeing programs ensure that every child is valued and supported.
Our Restorative Practice Framework establishes a common language and practices that build respectful relationships and foster effective communication among students, staff, parents, and the wider community. We cherish our strong partnerships with the P&C, parents, and local community members, as your involvement is vital to the success of our students.
At Riverbank, we encourage participation in all aspects of school life. Parents are valued as true partners in their children’s education, contributing their energy, time, and expertise to enrich our school community. We believe that all students should have the opportunity to acquire the knowledge, skills, values, and attitudes necessary to become reflective, self-sufficient, and self-motivated lifelong learners.
Our school year is filled with major highlights and special events, which we celebrate together as a community. Alongside these, we aim to provide daily moments of achievement—whether it’s mastering a new concept, improving a skill, or simply feeling proud of their efforts. These highlights are celebrated with classmates, teachers, and families.
The school’s motto, “Learning to Live, Living to Learn,” reinforces our commitment to a broad and enriching curriculum that not only focuses on literacy and numeracy skills but also on the social and emotional wellbeing of our students, all while respecting the richness of our culturally diverse community.
I look forward to welcoming you to Riverbank Public School and supporting you and your child as you become part of our vibrant school community.
Yours sincerely,
Jeanie Brown
Principal of Riverbank Public School
