Our extra-curricular highlights
Debating and public speaking
Our school helps students build strong debating and public speaking skills starting from the early years with weekly news presentations. From Year 1 to Year 6, students have the chance to take part in the Hills Public Speaking Competition. These skills are also included in everyday learning programs. We have two debating teams that compete in the Premier’s Debating Challenge and the Ridges Friendly Debating competition, giving students great opportunities to develop confidence and teamwork.
Creative and performing arts
Our drama, music and art programs help students be creative and express themselves. All our students engage in creative arts learning experiences in the classroom as part of their regular learning programs. They also have opportunities to further pursue their talents and interests through lunchtime groups including dance, drama and choir. Each year our school showcases its performing arts through a concert spectacular called Captivate, as well as other performance opportunities such as the Hills Performing Arts Festival.
Trips and excursions
Our students enjoy getting out of the classroom to explore, learn and try new things. These experiences help them grow, build confidence and see how their learning connects to the world. Each grade will experience at least one major excursion each year that complements their learning and builds their social skills and connections with their peers.
